My main historical interests lie in the representation of the American West in popular culture. What a delight to hear that Jonah Hex, a western comic book, would be made into a movie. Even better, Josh Brolin plays the title role. A long way from his Goonies days, his performance in No Country for Old Men has made him into a great pick to play this part. I don't know a lot about the comic books, but this certainly will pique my interest about them in the future. The movie opens tonight, but I will have to wait a bit to see it. I've promised Marie a trip to see Eclipse; in return, she will go see Jonah with me. Will it be good? That remains to be seen.
